ROH Ushers: Join the Team!
"My first show as an usher at the Rochester Opera House was a jazz band from New Orleans.
The audience was dancing in the aisles. It was so much fun. I was hooked."
Diane Holiday expresses the sentiment of many of the usher volunteers at the Rochester Opera House,
when she describes her first introduction to a performance as "so much fun."
Bonnie Bergeron has served as a volunteer for fifteen years, beginning with cleaning
and stenciling during restoration. Bonnie says, "It was a great feeling to see the transformation
of the auditorium from a neglected ruin into a beautiful cultural venue thanks to the group effort."

Thanks to that volunteer group effort, the Rochester Opera House now serves patrons from over four hundred
cities and town throughout New England and beyond. Linda Place, also a fifteen year volunteer and usher adds,
"It's a wonderful opportunity to see the shows and I love to meet and greet the patrons." With an ever expanding
line-up of shows, we would like expand our team of ushers and we invite you to join the team, who
meets and greets the thousands of patrons, who travel from all directions to Rochester to attend a performance.
The Rochester Opera House is very fortunate to have a wonderful group of ushers, who volunteer their valuable
time to have fun, to contribute to their community, to meet new friends and as Rochester newcomer Gary Klein
explains, "...to feel part of a community." If you would like the opportunity to work with great people, make friends,
support the arts and enjoy a show, please contact the Rochester Opera House at roh2@metrocast.net or call
the box office (603) 335-1992 on M/W/F from 10am to 5pm.
